General Questions
The EasyRoyaltiesPlus Suite is a comprehensive royalty management and rights solution for book publishers, with Author Royalties at its core. Designed to meet the operational requirements and business culture of North American publishers, it streamlines the entire royalty lifecycle — from managing titles and contracts to importing sales, calculating royalties, and distributing statements via email or portal. The system supports both simple and complex royalty structures, sales aggregation, multi-author contracts and multi-title contracts, complex tiered rates, reserves, recovery, cross-collateralization, multi-currency transactions and extensive analytics & reports.
Publishers can manage complete title and product metadata, including importing from ONIX, maintain detailed author, beneficiary, and agent records, and consolidate sales data from multiple sources. The EasyRoyalties Suite enables flexible royalty runs across imprints, periods, or projects, while offering customizable statements and automated distribution. In addition to email delivery, RIGHTS 20/20 distributes royalty reports, raw data, and supporting documentation through a comprehensive Author Portal, giving authors secure, real-time access to their financial information and historical records.
Built-in analytics, dashboards, alerts, and reporting tools provide actionable insights and audit readiness. Seamless integration with Microsoft Word™ and Outlook™, along with robust import and export capabilities, ensures efficient document generation and data exchange with other systems.
By prioritizing Author Royalties while incorporating mature structured rights management tools, The EasyRoyalties Suite reflects our commitment to delivering “A Wide Range of Solutions for a Wide Range of Publishers.” It is scalable, adaptable, and ideal for independent presses, from start-up to mid-size.
Plans for Small and Start-up Publishers
For smaller publishers, That’s4Starts! and Easy ROL provide specially-priced cost-effective configurations with the same powerful functionalities as larger packages.
That’s Rights! Agents provides specialized rights and license management tools that help new and established rights and literary agencies in North America maintain full control over their IP portfolios. It supports client and title management, prospect and publisher databases, submission tracking, structured follow-up workflows, and comprehensive incoming revenue functionality to ensure that opportunities are captured efficiently and IP revenues reach their beneficiaries swiftly and transparently.
The system simplifies interest and submissions, license negotiations, tracks contractual terms and renewals, manages co-editions from negotiation through delivery, and enables invoice generation for licensees. It also records incoming payments, advances, and associated royalty receipts, including multi-currency processing for international rights transactions.
That’s Rights Agents distributes client statements, raw data, and important documentation related to publishing and licensing deals via a dedicated Agents Portal. This secure portal ensures transparent communication with clients while centralizing access to financial and contractual information.
Advanced reporting, analytics, advance information sheets, and rights catalogs provide clear visibility into rights performance and revenue streams, enabling publishers and agents to maximize the value of their rights business while maintaining the operational rigor and financial transparency required in the North American publishing market.
EasyRoyaltiesPlus and That’s Rights! will run on any industry-standard device (desktop or laptop PC as well as Windows Server) that operates under the Microsoft Windows® operating system (Microsoft Windows® 10 or later).
Our royalties and rights systems are also available on a hosted cloud environment. Contact us at for more information.
Yes. We offer a dedicated hosted cloud service (via a third-party provider).
Yes. Just download the application and run the installation file. No specialized computer skills are necessary to install or operate our solutions. However multi-user configurations on a Windows Server will require installation by an IT manager or a system administrator.
Our Royalty Portal delivers the outcome of your internal royalty accounting to your authors’ self-service online dashboards. You calculate royalties in EasyRoyaltiesPlus (whether it’s hosted locally or in the cloud) and once a royalty run is finalized, you upload the completed statements to the platform as PDFs or data files. With each upload, the system sends authors an email letting them know their latest statements and/or data are ready.
Authors can then log in securely and access a personal dashboard where they can review a summary of their publishing contract terms and keep track of their royalty reports. The statement vault gives them access to both current and past royalty statements, which they can view or download as PDFs or Excel files. The Royalty Portal also provides charts and visualizations of the underlying data, making it easier for authors to review sales and earnings trends over time.
The Royalty Portal can also be used as a direct communication channel between publishers and authors. Publishers can share news, upcoming events, book reviews, covers of foreign editions and other updates directly on the author’s own dashboard. Publishers can also use the Royalty Portal to “broadcast” news, attendance of book fairs and conferences and other information to all their authors.

Support, training and other services
No special training — such as on-site sessions — is required to use our solutions.
All first-time purchases include a complimentary two-hour online introduction to the software. In some cases, additional training or troubleshooting may be necessary. These services are available for a fee, either per session or based on the specific issue.
Additional training is typically recommended when onboarding new staff or working with new data (e.g., acquiring a new imprint).
If data migration and setup services are required and purchased, they may include extra setup or training sessions as part of the package.
Our system reads ONIX files for building a title and product database. Our systems also include a robust Import feature that allows you to easily upload titles, contacts, interests, and licenses from spreadsheets or csv files.
If your configuration includes royalty calculation and your data is relatively complex (e.g., large volumes, multiple sources, or intricate structures), we will need to handle the data migration and setup for you. This service is available for a one-time fee and requires advance scheduling.
Customers with simpler requirements may complete the setup independently. If you send us samples of your data, we’ll be happy to advise on the best approach. (For more information see Data migration and Setup)
We provide unlimited free email support for software installation and registration. In addition, complimentary assistance with general “how‑to” questions is available through our HelpDesk for the entire duration of active subscriptions.
All new subscriptions include a one‑time, formal online introduction to the software, designed to ensure a smooth and efficient start. This session may be scheduled as one or two sessions at any time within the first year of your subscription. Additional training services, such as advanced data management assistance or getting‑started training for new team members or data from acquisition of new imprints, are available for an additional fee.
Data migration services are available for a one‑time fee. Depending on the complexity of the data migration, the migration and setup package may include supplementary training.
Please note that some of our authorized resellers may offer customized support and training services for an additional fee.
Updates to existing features and newly scheduled enhancements are released periodically and included at no additional cost with all subscription plans.
Your requirements may already be part of our planned updates. If they align with our overall directions, we will be happy to consider incorporating them.
Please note that we do not offer customization services or provide developer licenses for our solutions.
